Summary

Miauw is a music player that plays audio files from your device and Google Drive. We do not operate our own servers or display ads. Your personal data stays on your device, and we only collect anonymous crash and performance data to improve the app.

Information We Access

Google Account

When you sign in with Google, we access your:

Name and email — displayed in the app's profile section
Profile photo — displayed as your avatar

This information is used solely within the app on your device. It is not transmitted to any server we operate.

Google Drive Files

When you connect Google Drive, the app:

Lists audio files and folders in your Drive
Streams audio directly from Google's servers to your device
Optionally caches encrypted copies of audio files on your device for offline playback

The app only accesses files you explicitly select. We never copy, upload, or share your Drive files with any third party.

Miauw's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Local Storage

The app reads audio files from your device's local storage when you choose to add them.

Data Storage

All app data is stored locally on your device only:

Playlists, albums, and favourites — stored in a local SQLite database
Playback history — stored locally
Cached audio files — stored encrypted (AES-256) on your device
App preferences — stored in local shared preferences

We do not have servers. No data leaves your device except direct communication between your device and Google's APIs (Google Sign-In and Google Drive).

Firebase services may collect anonymous device information (device model, OS version, crash logs) as described in their privacy policies. This data is not linked to your identity.

Data Sharing

We do not:

Sell your data
Share your data with third parties for advertising
Track your activity across other apps or websites
Display advertisements

Data Retention

All local data is retained on your device until you delete it or uninstall the app
You can clear cached tracks from Settings → Cache → Clear all cache
You can reset all app data from Settings → Reset library
Signing out removes your Google account information from the app

Children's Privacy

Miauw is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Security

Cached audio files are encrypted using AES-256-CBC encryption
Encryption keys are derived from a device-specific random seed
File integrity is verified using SHA-256 hashing
All network communication uses HTTPS

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
